Giuseppe Quintarelli's Recioto della Valpolicella Classico 2004 is a masterpiece of Italian winemaking. Crafted in the heart of the Valpolicella region, this luscious dessert wine embodies the quintessence of traditional Amarone production. The 2004 vintage is characterized by rich, concentrated flavors of dried cherries, plums, and raisins, complemented by subtle notes of chocolate and spice.

Bright and focused, offering cherry, raspberry, rose hip, mushroom, iron and tobacco aromas and flavors. Pure and expressive, with fine harmony, an elegant frame and a lingering aftertaste. Gains support from a firm structure.

The 2019 Barolo Ravera di Monforte is a powerful, searing wine. Red cherry fruit, leather, cedar, mint, iron, white pepper and dried flowers build in a mid-weight, tannic Barolo that is going to need time to be at its best. There is good tension and energy, but my impression is that the 2019 is recovering from its bottling, as it is very tight and sinewy in feel today.

Power wine. Dark fruit, ash, nutmeg, earthy and mushrooms. Long complex finish. Light smoke and leather in the end.
