"Testamatta” – “crazy-head” in Italian - is the best word to describe Bibi Graetz: a positive, creative and passionate person. A Supertuscan made with 100% Sangiovese, result of the combination of tradition and creativity.

For six generations, Massimo Benevelli’s family has farmed the steep hillsides in southeastern Barolo. Massimo, now forty-one, has worked among its vines since he was fourteen, and he knows exactly how to translate this distinctive terroir, which produces wines with the structure and concentration that epitomize great Barolo from Monforte. None of the soul has been buffed out, but notes of black cherries, forest floor, and blood orange emerge even more polished than usual. Truly phenomenal.
Produced in the tiniest of quantities, this absolutely stunning Barolo is a delight! Texture like velvet and extremely elegant, it is open, generous and layered with juicy red cherry flavours overlain with herbs and spices, plus notes of raspberry and cranberry. Unusually for a Barolo, this is already beautiful to drink, but will age well for a decade. Hugely powerful and incredibly elegant. We received an allocation of 12 bottles only. This is very rare.
Intense ruby red. On the nose, hints of blueberry jam, chalk and black pepper. Rich and complex on the palate, with notes of blackcurrant and Mediterranean spices. The tannins are present but tapered.
The Salvatore Molettieri Taurasi Riserva Cinque Querce is full-bodied with notes of fig, black berry, and an underlying herbal touch. The tannins and acidity are present but work harmoniously to give a smoother mouthfeel.
Intense garnet color, the nose expresses hints of ripe fruit, then nuances of tobacco, anise and cloves. In the mouth it is deep, with an elegant and powerful tannic texture and a long persistence.
The Altero was made from a selection of the best wine in the cellar. Aged for 30 months in French oak tonneaux (500 l), followed by 18 months of bottle refinement, the vintage is definitely cellar worthy. Juicy red currants, cherries, and sprigs of fresh rosemary are robed in vanilla and baking spice with just a wisp of smoke. Best with BBQ or lightly smoked meats and cheeses.
A wine that has acquired an increasingly well-defined identity over the years and that in 2019, also on the strength of a spectacular harvest and the confirmation of the addition of Cabernet Franc in the blend, undoubtedly marks its territorial connotation. It is the purest expression of the Val di Cornia terroir and its specific agronomic identity, which brings two different micro-terroirs into the glass: calcareous soils, rich in iron, sodium and magnesium on the one hand, and micro-elements, combined with the deep clay layer, on the other.
The Argentiera DOC Bolgheri Superiore, draws its strength and uniqueness from the magnificent territory in which it’s generated. A long maturation in French oak barrels, the structure of Cabernet Sauvignon and the unique terroir of Tenuta Argentiera make this wine one of the greatest expressions in the Bolgheri area.
The 2020 Tignanello is an intense ruby red in color. Complex notes of ripe red fruits, especially cherries, are highlighted along with berries and floral notes. Its bouquet is complemented by notes of roasted coffee and cocoa powder. On the palate, the wine is vibrant with a layered mouthfeel and silky tannins. Tignanello closes with spicy notes of pepper, licorice and herbs with a fresh, lengthy finish.
Juicy dark fruits, bramby berries, and succulent cherries cavort on a bed of licorice, potpourri, saddle leather, incense and sweet baking spices in this supple, superb ’01 Recioto. While this wine suffuses your mouth with flavors and textures, it’s nonetheless remarkably nimble; there’s nothing weighty about this silky, outrageously good dessert wine – it’s a knockout!
