2019 Apothic Merlot reveals depths of black cherry, boysenberry and wild blueberries with subtle hints of vanilla and coconut. To add dimension to the wine, we added a touch of a unique grape called Teroldego, which marries well with the Merlot to create plush tannins and a long, lasting finish.
Sangria is traditionally a social red wine. You can enjoy its bright flavor as is or add slices of your favorite fruit, let it marinate and then serve it at your next fiesta.
Our Single Vineyard collection is inspired by the Herzog family's ongoing commitment to sourcing and prospecting new vineyards. The Dry Creek Valley appellation features ancient hills with rocky soil that drains exceptionally well helping to stress the vines late in the growing season, and concentrate the flavors of Cabernet Sauvignon. This single vineyard wine displays a rich velvet ruby color, with aromas of blackberry, cinnamon and spice. Bold flavors of black raspberry appear in the finish, with silky notes of vanilla.
Ruby black color. Aromas of watermelon candy, strawberry candies, blueberry jam, and dill with a satiny, vibrant, fruity medium body and a seamless, interesting, medium-length red licorice, peach scone, and baking spices finish with moderate oak flavor. A somewhat ostentatious Cabernet with bold candy-fruit aromas and easy-drinking, crowd-pleasing style.
Volcano Ridge vineyard is located at the steep slopes of an extinct cinder cone that rise to 2200 feet above sea level. The pure volcanic soils, or 'tephra,' are extremely well-drained and are ideal for vine stress and restricting crop yields.
