The 2015 Firebelle is their Merlot-dominated cuvée. Coming from the sandy soils called Bale Loam it’s a blend of 71% Merlot 21% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Petit Verdot. This is a more tightly knit wine with loads of lack fruits mocha and coffee bean some licorice and tar. It is deep rich and promising with a huge upside. Deeply saturated in color, the 2009 Aida Estate Cabernet opens with explosive aromas of ripe cherries, scorched earth, and fresh tobacco leaf. The fruit was picked at optimal ripeness translating to a palate that is lush, rich, concentrated, and layered with dark chocolate shavings, tar, and graphite. The 2013 Experiment R8.3 wine is a blend of roughly two-thirds Cabernet Sauvignon and one-third Cabernet Franc, with a splash of Petit Verdot to provide color and bass notes.
