Golden hue and exceptional purity. A very precise wine. Mineral backbone and good complexity. The first nose is dominated by aromas of white flowers and licorice. The palate is full-bodied, smooth and rich with a delicate acidity that gives it a lively finish.

Climat is an exceptional grape selection unique to each vintage, to discover to secrets of our terroirs and keep a memory of its unique characteristics. Grand Cru “rich and structured” with a dark and glistening robe. Concentrated nose with fragrances of dark fruits, spices, undergrowth and distinguished oak notes. Mouth filling, with persistent tannins melted into the fruits. Harmonious finale, aromatic and intense.

Accurate flinty aromas are wrapped in orange blossom and unripe pear notes. The palate is supported with crisp minerality and flavors of round lemon, and kiwi fruit. A crisp and mouth-filing finish. Pairs well with Chavignol goat cheese, smoked salmon, and caviar.

Very expressive with floral, plant and woody notes, evolving into aromas of exotic fruit. Fresh, full and well-balanced with an expressive finish and a slight return of exotic fruit and floral zests.

Color: Ruby red with garnet reflections.
Bouquet: Floral and fruity aromas. Full-bodied and complex, with notes of iris, spices and ripe fruit.
Flavour: When young, violet and cherry notes dominate. After a few years, the bouquet develops aromas of iris, spices and ripe fruit. Later, aromas of undergrowth and truffle begin to appear, followed by musk.

This north-facing limestone site is cool and late ripening. In a warm year like 2019 its quality soars. There is such a fine acidity and outstanding length. I was really blown away by this, and can’t wait to see how the fruit and acidity entwine further with some bottle age. Nervous and tense, this warrants attention.

Calon Château St Georges St Emilion 2019 is a prestigious red wine from the Saint-Émilion wine region in Bordeaux, France. This wine is made predominantly from Merlot grapes, with smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, carefully selected from the estate's vineyards.

Boxler is widely considered one of the top producers in Alsace, although this small, meticulously run estate is often overshadowed by its larger, more famous neighbors (Trimbach, Humbrecht etc.). But that suits current winemaker/proprietor Jean Boxler just fine.

Crafted with indigenous fermentation in stainless steel and concrete, it showcases a pure expression of the limestone soil, with no wood aging to maintain its freshness.
