While the project launched in 2015 is a remarkable incubator for new plantings from the clay and schist soils of Montsant, it is also a liquid homage, utilizing the négocient tradition of the past to secure a sustainable future.

Valbuena 5º is the purest expression of red wine at Vega Sicilia. It is aged between barrel and bottle over five years, giving rise to the wine's name. The 2018 bottling is a vertical, zingy, crystalline expression, full of nuances, with a seductive and unctuous texture.

The 2016 Viña Cubillo Tinto Crianza was surprising, spectacular, elegant, clean and fresh like few vintages before. It was a superb year, with quality, quantity and freshness. It's quite the opposite from the previous 2015, which was a much warmer and riper year.
Juan Antonio Ponce began his winery in 2005, at the age of 23. He works biodynamically in the vineyard, and in the winery he takes a natural approach, using low levels of sulfur dioxide. His philosophy is to make natural wines with wild-yeast fermentation, to respect the local varietal bobal, and to express its terroir.
