Macán 2018, a vibrant, elegant, and subtle vintage. A vintage with nuances, definition, and a trendsetting feeling.
Macán Clásico is a wine more attached to the territory. Freshness, fruitiness and delicacy are its hallmarks. Its elaboration takes place in stainless steel tanks, with a part of malolactic fermentation in oak, and a barrel aging that ranges between 12 and 14 months depending on the characteristics of the vintage.
On the nose, the first aromas to appear are those of the barrel aging; the most evident being vanilla, smoky notes, caramel and roasted coffee beans. On gently swirling the glass, these combine with aromas of black fruits. The blend of grapes give it a complex structure and aromatic intensity.
Cherry red color with thin terracotta edge showing its longer barrelage. Aromas of mature black fruit, toffee and balsamic as well as some mineral notes. This is a silky wine, but fresh and refreshing as well as elegant and persistent.
Quinta Milu is the brain child and family business of Austrian born Germán Blanco and with the help of local expert Javier Collio they are turning Rioja on its head. Germán has created a micro winery and a new style Rioja that involves minimal intervention and zero oak.
