Victoire Lafayette Brut Blanc de Blanc
Victoire Lafayette is a crisp, Brut Blanc de Blancs with golden wheat color tints and clear fine bubbles. Fresh and fruity with honey hints and white peach and apricot aromas. Crisp, well-balanced and very food friendly. Ideal for festive occasions and with seafood (oysters, shrimp cocktail) or on its own for an aperitif.
Victoire Lafayette is made in the Charmat method, the grapes are harvested in the cool morning temperatures to keep the refreshing identity of the wine. The grapes are then go through direct pressing and separation of the first presses. It then goes through a cold fermentation and is aged in closed vats on the fine lees before the second maceration with addition of the dosage. The final wine is then clarified, filtered and bottled.
The Victoire Lafayette wine is named after the honorable historic figure Marquis de Lafayette was a French aristocrat and military officer who fought in the American Revolutionary War, commanding American troops in several battles. He joined the “Victoire” departing to America in 1777. To honor this occasion the date is included on the logo. After returning to France, he was a key figure in the French Revolution of 1789 and the July Revolution of 1830. He has been considered a national hero in both countries.
