Uncle Val's Botanical Gin
Raise your glass and you'll notice crisp aromas of sage and juniper. Your first sip will bring out a bright lemon taste, which gives way to a warm, spicy, lavender finish, softened by the coolness of cucumber. Each sip bolsters the botanical flavors, along with a continuous presence of piney juniper.
Bottled by 35 Maple Street in Bend, Oregon. 35 Maple Street is the name of the spirits division and the actual street address of The Other Guys, Inc. They are located right in the heart of Sonoma, a friendly, open-minded town steeped in California history and, a lot like the people at 35 Maple Street, embodies a deep respect for craftsmanship, tradition, quality, and commitment. At 35 Maple Street, they seek to impart these very same qualities in all that they make and all that they do. Uncle Val's is a small-batch botanical gin inspired by Zio Valerio's (August Sebastiani's uncle) love of gardening and native Tuscan cuisine. Tangerine, lemon blossoms, and blue flowers sing the praises of this gin with botanicals the same as the ones Uncle Val likes to use in his cooking: lemon, juniper, cucumber, sage, and lavender. Adding a lovely weight and a syrup of white-peppered marshmallow have made these all the more appealing, making for an exceptionally unique and smoothly delicious gin. These botanicals can still be found in his home garden in Lucca, Italy, perhaps along with Uncle Val himself, sitting in the sun and enjoying the fruits of his labor.
