The northwestern province of Piedmonte is home to Stella Rosa Imperiale Brachetto D'Acqui DOCG, one of the world's most-unique, aromatic, semisweet, sparkling-red wines. The prized grapes are selected from specific family-cultivated vineyards in the communes of Asti and Alessandria near the town of Aqui Terme.
