While each release of Yellowstone Limited Edition is different, one thing always remains the same: a promise of top-shelf flavor with humble complexities. This year’s offering features a delicately balanced blend of 7-year, 15-year and 16-year-aged bourbons, finished in Marsala Superiore casks. Marsala Superiore is a dry, sweet wine produced in Italy and imparts tangy flavors of dried fruits and citrus.
The nose features a savory mix of light rye bread with sweet caramel richness and a hint of tangy fruit salad. On tasting, there is an initial wave of buttery rye bread with a full-bodied feel.
Crafted with sweet and delicate wheat instead of the more traditional rye, this bourbon is quite distinctive from most. The soft wheat delivers a subtle and smooth taste with gentle layers of flavor. Each sip expresses a harmony of sweetness and dryness.
Since the 1990’s, the Michter’s team has been doing pioneering work to re-establish the high-quality American Rye whiskey category. The May 2015 inaugural release of Michter’s US★1 Barrel Strength Rye marked yet another milestone in that quest. For maturation, the Rye distillate is entered into the barrel at 103 proof, rather than a more industry standard higher proof.
This limited run of 1500 total bottles consists of Kentucky straight bourbon finished in handmade Japanese Mizunara Oak barrels that previously held premium shochu. The legendary Ariake cooperage crafted the barrels near Kyoto, Japan. Bourbon is from Bardstown Bourbon Company, one of the most technologically advanced US distilleries.
This right here is an extraordinarily snazzy expression from Woodford Reserve bourbon, which has been allowed a three-year-long finishing period in XO Cognac casks! This allows plenty of time for the Cognac casks to impart a wealth of rich fruit and mature oak notes to the top quality whiskey.
This ten-year-old Bottled in Bond bourbon was aged in Warehouse C, built by Col. Taylor in 1885, and the barrel warehouse he was most proud of – the final piece in his “model distillery.” Like some of the previous releases, this one-time-only bottling of E.H. Taylor, Jr Warehouse C Bourbon is very limited. The ideal aging locations for these barrels led to a wonderful flavor combination, with a nose of cherry cobbler with rum sauce and a hint of oak; a palate of cherry cola, vanilla bean and toasted oak; and a finish that is long and lingering with a hint of spearmint, coffee, raisin bread and anise.
Batch 11 of Kentucky Owl Straight Bourbon is made with casks from a number of distilleries. Blended from bourbons aged for between 6 and 14 years, this offers aromas of citrus, chocolate and toffee on the nose. These are complemented by notes of more chocolate, oak spice, honey and cinnamon throughout the palate.

Bardstown Bourbon Company Discovery Series #6 is a blend of straight bourbon whiskies. The blend consists of 68% 11-year-old Kentucky Bourbon, 16% 17-year-old Tennessee Bourbon, and 16% 7-year-old Indiana Bourbon. Bardstown Discovery Series #6 is a cask-strength bourbon bottled at 58% ABV.
