The 2022-release of Glenturret 12 Year Old was matured in a combination of American and European oak casks and bottled in 2022. Peat smoke has long drifted through our history. In years gone by, peat featured heavily in distilling traditions and our records show Glenturret using peat dug from Octhertye Estate in the early 1800s. We are in the rare position of producing peated and non-peated spirit at different times of the year from the same small stills. This has allowed us to craft this mellow, sweet, smoky 10 years old single malt that shows its character off to the full at a strength of 50%.
A new addition to the Glengoyne core range, this single malt bottling has spent a quarter of a century maturing in first-fill European oak sherry casks kept in traditional dunnage-style warehouses.
Distilled using peated malted barley. Nose of gooseberries, cinnamon, and charred wood. Tastes of spices, floral honey, and campfire embers.

Despite having been around for about 200 years, Glencadam is one of those distilleries that is often overlooked. Releases like this bottling suggest this will not be the case for much longer.
