The fourth release in the limited edition bottles. Aged in several different casks this whiskey has aromas of honey, cherries, and toffee. Flavors of vanilla, butterscotch, and orange with a long finish.

Look for a burnished gold hue and fresh apple aroma. The rounded palate beautifully mixes cinnamon spice, mild smoke and an herbaceous roots-and-bark complexity that suggests sarsaparilla.

Ardbeg Scorch is a limited edition release in honor of Ardbeg Day, which is held annually on the final Saturday of Islay’s Festival of Music and Malt.

Ardbeg Blaaack is the feisty Limited Edition bottled in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Ardbeg Committee, founded in the year 2000. Rare and limited release, this single malt scotch whisky has lived longer than the distillery from which it came. Aromas of fruit and crisp red apple give way to gentle vanilla creaminess and distant orange peel. A hint of wood spices and sweetness finish.

Made using six first-fill sherry-seasoned European oak casks, four first-fill sherry-seasoned American oak casks, and five refill casks, the tasting notes include grated nutmeg, root ginger & sun-ripened orange peel, leading to ripe mango, pear, and vanilla flavors.

The tale of The Celestial Blaze explains how a vivid light grew against the ink-black sky above Oban, driven by a celestial creature. The spritely being painted the sky with violet brilliance, an ethereal light that descended upon the distillery, mirroring the vibrance and energy that the distillery gave to the quiet town of Oban when it was built in 1794. 

Founded in 1837 by farmers George and John Rate, twenty miles from the heart of Edinburgh, Glenkinchie was completely rebuild in the 1890s to become a large model distillery. And it has worked almost continuously ever since, even through two world wars. It occupies a sylvan setting with its own bowling green, yet possesses two of the largest stills in Scotland. The buildings converted to steam heated stills in 1981, with the wash still alone holding some 32,000 litres. One of the last working Lowland distilleries for many years, Glenkinchie is known as “The Edinburgh Malt” for its proximity to Scotland’s capital city.

Nose: Smoke rises with a cloying sweetness. Intense, pungent and aromatic, a distinctive farmyard scent drifts, along with a crunchy aroma, like creosote or tarry rope. A splash of water disturbs the vapours and dark chocolate cream billows, laced with a ribbon of smoked artichoke.

The 12th batch of The Glendronachs Cask Strength series the delicious Highland Scotch whisky, which has been matured in oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, bottled at a punchy 58.2% ABV. A few drops of water should open this up nicely, revealing all the rich fruit and nutty sherry goodness.
