This 43% Cognac is aged in both young and old French oak barrels with a moderate level of lees in the eaux-de-vie, to release a lightness and an elegance. The blend has an unmistakable personality that is best described as persistent with a touch of subtleness.
This XO Cognac shows an intense gold colour with dense mahogany highlights. On the nose, it reveals pastry aromas, with notes of abricot, orange and white flowers finely followed by hints of cinnamon. Lavish notes of butter and candied fruit mingle on the palate, anticipating a long finish rich in spices.
The architect Frank Gehry has created a case revealing light. The iconic decanter is decked with metallic pigments of subtly shaded gold which magnify the blend and it’s amber color. The glass of the giftbox reflects the blue interior, recalling the ripples on the river in Cognac.

For the third time in history, in an unexpected departure from the ordinary passage of time, Cellar Master Baptiste Loiseau uncovers the third milestone in the RARE CASK legacy: RARE CASK 42.1. This unique bottling is a blend of Cognacs coming from ten demijohns dated from 1853-1906. So all of the Cognacs in the blend are well over 100 years old and almost all of the blend comes from the 19th century (making it considerably older than the most famous, big brand prestige cuvées like Louis XIII or Richard Hennessy). In fact, the Extreme looks like a downright bargain when compared to such wines (in both quality and price terms).
An aromatic Cognac from Courvoisier that combines the traditions of Cognac with the elegance of Japanese mizunara oak. Made in a collaboration with House of Suntory chief blender Shinji Fukuyo, it started out maturing in French oak barrels, before being transferred into Japanese mizunara casks for a secondary maturation. Aromas of sandalwood, roasted cocoa, cherry blossom, aromatic oak and sweet spices fill the nose, complemented by notes of jasmine, vanilla, yuzu, passion fruit, honey and green tea throughout the palate.
The Deau XO is a blend of cognacs sourced mostly from Petite Champagne and Fins Bois and aged in small Limousin oak wood barrels for 10 to 15 years. Deep amber color and mahogany nuances. Floral (jasmine, violet) and fruit aromas (dry plum, cinnamon).
