Wafting from the glass with aromas of dried fruits, pear, toasted nuts, orange zest, honeycomb and freshly baked bread. Medium to full-bodied, generous but incisive, it’s deep and elegantly fleshy, with a beautifully refined mousse and an enveloping core of fruit that’s complemented by the characteristic Krug patina of nutty complexity.
At first sight, its subtle pale pink colour holds a promise of elegance. On the nose, aromas of rose hips, cured ham, mulberries, redcurrant, peony, pepper & pink grapefruit. On the palate, delicate flavours of honey, citrus & dried fruit with a long finish, enhanced by its fine bubbles.
Aromas of orange marmalade, brioche, & apple tart pave the way for soft bubbles that dissipate quickly on the palate. The gentle glide continues with notes of honeysuckle, apricot, & tarragon before the finish of tart lemon drop is highlighted by a touch of salinity.
