Estate bottled by Sky Vineyards, this Zinfandel is grown high on Mount Veeder in the Napa Valley, where steep, rugged hillsides and thin volcanic soils produce small crops of concentrated fruit. The label’s trio of gnarled, hand-drawn vines reflects the old-vine, dry-farmed heritage this mountain site is known for.
Expect aromas of wild blackberry, raspberry, black pepper, and dried herbs, with a hint of earthy spice. The palate is bold yet structured, with dark fruit, firm mountain tannins, and a long, peppery finish. Pair it with barbecue ribs, grilled sausages, lamb, or aged cheeses, or cellar it for a few years to let it gain complexity.
