San Luciano Colle Carpito Toscana 2009

This wine is made from selected Sangiovese and Montepulciano grapes, from the Cresta de Gallo vineyards. Bright ruby red in color that is well blended with a slight touch of wild fruit on the nose and fresh and smooth on the palate.

Tenuta San Luciano and its village have distant origins. An extraordinary fertile land, the products of which were already very well known in ancient times along the way which was to become the Roman Cassia road. The position, the residential settlement and the archaeological findings show how the common historical matrix has here proved a more striking and tropical feature. Located in a dominant position, surrounded by woods and "cavalpoggio" cultivation which are arranged over the top of the hills and which were already extensive in the 17th century, San Luciano has a small church with a beautiful and precious altar painting representing the Madonna with child.
