Red Car Wine Company Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2012

Red Car Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir is a perfect blend of Red Car's most notable, cool-climate vineyards in Fort Ross, Freestone and Occidental. Naturally low in alcohol and high in acidity, the 2012 is a mix of heritage and Dijon clones that were hand-sorted, then fermented with a native yeast in small open tops and aged in French oak barrels (10% new). The wine offers notes of rose petals, orange rinds, and raspberries.

Red Car uses meticulous viticulture and transparent winemaking to craft wines with authentic character and originality. Combining old and new world techniques, we minimize manipulation so the fruit can faithfully express the cool climate personality of the Sonoma Coast. The winery name is a tribute to the electric trolley cars that ran throughout Los Angeles from the late 19th century through the early 1960’s. These "red cars" provided transportation in a romanticized time and place. We strive to make wines that are similarly memorable and transportive.
