R. Lopez de Heredia Viña Tondonia Gran Reserva White Cosecha de 2004
From the legendary Bodegas R. López de Heredia, founded in 1877 in Haro, this is Rioja's most iconic white, made primarily from Viura with a touch of Malvasía and aged for over 6 years in barrel and many more in bottle before release.
The 2004 vintage shows a deep golden-amber color with a profoundly complex bouquet of dried honey, beeswax, toasted almonds, dried citrus peel and a subtle saline minerality.
On the palate it is dry, textured and incredibly fresh for its age, with vibrant acidity, nutty depth and a long, savory finish — a timeless white Rioja for the cellar or to pair with seafood, poultry and aged cheeses.
