Oyster Bay Wines Pinot Noir 2018
Aromatic cherry, bright red berry, and juicy black plum, with a lingering, smooth, and seductive texture
Oyster Bay Wines, founded in 1989, takes its name from the pristine Oyster Bay Wines on the coast of Marlborough, at the tip of New Zealand's majestic South Island. The country's inherent maritime climate holds pure glacial waters, clear sunlight, and nutrient-rich soils which helps bring abundant life and flavor to the wines—precious assets that lets Oyster Bay Wines produce fine, distinctively regional wines that "captures the special character of New Zealand's cool climate viticulture . . . elegant, assertive wines with glorious fruit flavors." As a fitting reflection of this philosophy, the winery features a highly distinctive, curved, and layered roof that reflects the nearby Mt. Richmond ranges and enables Oyster Bay Wines to naturally maintain a cool and consistent winemaking environment through the hot summer months. The roof also protects the winery and sensitive surrounding vineyard area from runoff caused by heavy rain. Also, the large, curved, blue-tinted glass wall, wrapped around the sides of the building, emulates the serpentine form of the iconic Wairau River.
