The wine's layers of ripe cherry, raspberry, rose petal and a hint of earth after a refreshing rain came from the soils, mesoclimates and clones of two exceptional vineyards in this small region within the Russian River American Viticultural Area.
Orogeny Green Valley Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are blended from the grapes from several vineyards. Each site has been carefully selected to display the bright fruit characteristics of Green Valley Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. In 2000, they signed a long-term contract with the Dutton family to custom grow the high-quality grapes needed for a new project. Their goal was to produce world-class Pinot Noir from the critically acclaimed Russian River area. .
