Montefiore Winery Kerem Moshe 2012
Deeply colored with a blackcurrant and blackberry aroma, a hint of tobacco, and cedarwood. Layers of complexity and a long, lingering finish. Pair with roast lamb, venison, or aged cheddar cheese.
60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Petit Verdot, 6% Syrah. Kerem Montefiore was founded on the 150th anniversary of Mishkenot Sha'ananim. This was the first neighborhood built outside the old city walls of Jerusalem and it became the cornerstone of modern Jerusalem. When the land was purchased by Sir Moses Montefiore, it was orignally named 'Kerem Moshe,' Moses' Vineyard. The winery celebrates the person, the place, and the vision. This wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Syrah grown on the slopes that rise towards Jerusalem. It was aged in small French oak barrels for 16 months.
