100% Barbera. The oldest vineyard on the estate produces the grapes for this wine. The vineyard is located on and named for the most-celebrated hill in Canale, Our Lady of MonBirone, to whom the townspeople are dedicated.
Deep color, with intense shades of ruby red enhanced by purplish highlights. Complex aromas of cocoa, toasted coffee, and juniper berry with hints of cherry and plum. On the palate it is smooth and balanced with a long, fresh finish. Pairs well with slow-cooked meat dishes, such as stewed veal, beef cooked in red wine, or roasted pork and red meats.
