Massaya Arak is a renowned Lebanese spirit crafted in the Bekaa Valley by the Ghosn brothers, Sami and Ramzi, founders of Massaya Winery. Made from native Obeidi grapes known for their aromatic qualities, the grapes are triple distilled in vine wood fired Moorish copper stills for high purity and robust flavor.
Infused with organic aniseed, Massaya Arak has a distinctive licorice like aroma. It is aged for at least one year in clay amphorae, which enhances its smooth, rich character and preserves its natural purity. The result is an alcohol by volume (ABV) of 50%. Traditionally served diluted with water, Massaya Arak turns milky white, adding to its appeal. It’s commonly enjoyed with ice alongside various mezze dishes like grilled meats and olives, making it a versatile dining companion. Free of sweeteners and unfiltered, Massaya Arak reflects the heritage and expertise of its makers, celebrating the essence of Mediterranean hospitality and craftsmanship.
