Lewis Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Lewis Cellars makes four unique cabernets but the Napa Valley Cab is theirr preferred daily driver. Not a hybrid or 4-cylinder econo-box; more of a 3.0-liter in-line six that's silky smooth with plenty of supple power. The 2013 sports a plush interior and wide array of currants, berries, black truffle, and mocha aromas. The steering, gearbox, and brakes work together seamlessly, and the experience is competent and rewarding under all road conditions.

In 1992, Debbie and Randy Lewis, a former Indy car driver, established a small family winery in Napa Valley and were later joined by their son Dennis in 1999. Total production is approximately 9,000 cases annually of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, syrah, chardonnay, and sauvignon blanc. They are literally hands-on in every aspect of vineyard management, winemaking, sales, and distribution, and they thrive on this challenge and the relationships they cultivate in the process. The Lewis family is driven to create world-class wines. This unique blend of syrah, merlot, and cabernet sauvignon was named after Dennis's first son "Alec."
