Grenache (Cannonau, Garnacha, Tintilla) | France
This wine spends at least 30 months in old oak barrels and the grapes are destemmed and fermented, followed by pressing of 3 weeks with alcohol. The result is a beautiful amber color, with concentrated berry flavor, dried fruit, honey, and dates. This is a perfect wine for chocolate cake.
Grenache Noir. From the Eastern corner of France which borders Spain, the 2,500-acre L'Etoile vineyard looks over the Western Mediterranean. They are known for their sweet wines and small yields produced in the Banyuls appellation which is situated in the village of Port Vendres.
