Las Rocas de San Alejandro Garnacha 2018
Las Rocas wines hail from the steep, rocky vineyards of Calatayud, Spain. The Granacha offers a taste as uniquely intriguing as its origin with exotic dark cherry and blackberry flavors. This wine is well structured with round tannins and subtle hints of oak.
100% Garnacha. Bottled by Bodegas San Alejandro, founded in 1962 as a growers' cooperative and located in the tiny town of Miedes, about 55 miles north of Madrid in the province of Zaragoza. It is a prime location for growing grapes due to the altitude of the vineyards, the harsh climate, the slow ripening of the grapes, the diversity of its soils, and a long list of singularities that make up its terroir. It was named in honor of San Alejandro, whose remains were found in the Mudejar-styled Convento Franciscano del S.XVII situated in Miedes.
