La Sirena Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2006
The 2006 Cab. Sauv. is dark ruby in color with aromas of black cherries, cola, cedar and spice, quite layered and complex. This wine has an extremely silky, velvety mouthfeel and flavors of black cherry, berry, and cassis. Hints of sweet toasty French oak add to the overall deliciousness of the wine. Wonderful purity and balance. The flavors and finish persist for several minutes. A beautiful wine that simply flows across the palate. Yum! (A technical term)
Typically 90% cab. sauv from Calistoga/St. Helena, blended with small amounts of merlot, cab franc, and petit verdot. Since 1996, Heidi Barrett has made cabernet sauvignon under the La Sirena label in the layered, Bordeaux-style blend that brought her such acclaim at Screaming Eagle and other cult wineries. For 25 vintages and counting, La Sirena Cabernet has maintained its position of excellence and gained fans all over the world for its complexity, elegance, and purity of fruit. La Sirena means "the Mermaid" in both Italian and Spanish. Mermaids, like fine wines, have unique and magical qualities. La Sirena combines Heidi's passion for the ocean as well as for winemaking. Sirena's production is very limited. They make only handcrafted wines of the highest quality. It is Heidi's hope that this wine brings you great joy!
