Jerusalem 4490 Petite Syrah Reserve 2014
Petite Sirah (Durif) | Israel
Deep purple/black ink in color, this muscular Petite Syrah from Ktar Uriah, nestled in the Judean Foothills near Jersalem, shows aromas of ripe sweet plum, meaty and vanilla notes and aged for 24 months in french oak barrels. The palate follows through with rich, fruity, and firm, gripping tannis.
In the Hebrew year 4990, the Ramban was looking forward to leaving his home in Spain and immigrating to Jerusalem. Forty years later he arrived and renewed the Jewish community life. The wine industry was revived, and became the basis for commercial production of wine in modern Israel.
