Herzog Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Oakville 2019
The Single Vineyard collection is inspired by the Herzog family's ongoing commitment to sourcing and prospecting new vineyards. With innovation and creativity, they are able to explore the intricacies of terroir and the uniqueness of time and place in the vineyard.
For them, this is hands-on, artisan winemaking at its best. Displays an elegant structure and full body with aromas of plum and blackberry. In the mouth, notes of fresh raspberry lead a lingering finish of leather and crushed herb.
For six generations, the Herzog family produced award-winning, quality wines in their native Czechoslavakia. Since moving to the United States in 1948, that tradition has continued under the seventh and eighth generations, with a commitment to excellence undiminished by time. The winery is named after Philip Herzog who, in his position as exclusive supplier of wines to the Emperor Franz Joseph, was awarded the title of Baron in the late 1800s. Reflecting their desire to improve the environment, Herzog Wines are produced utilizing sustainable winegrowing polices and practices directed toward improving their wines and their environment.
