Produced for the Sazerac Company and proudly billed as “The Spirit of New Orleans,” Herbsaint is a classic anise-flavored liqueur whose vintage label pictures the Vieux Carré Café in the French Quarter.

It is made from grain neutral spirits with natural flavors and certified colors, following J. Marion Legendre’s original 1934 Legendre Absinthe recipe. Expect bold aromas of star anise and licorice, with notes of fennel, mint, and gentle herbal spice, and a dry, cooling finish that lingers. Bottled at 50% ABV (100 proof) in a 750 ml bottle, it is the essential rinse for the official Sazerac cocktail, using 1/4 oz to coat the glass before adding rye, bitters, and sugar.
