Hecht & Bannier Languedoc Blanc 2012
Blend | France
Piquepoul Blanc brings liveliness, mineral "tang" and energy to the blend; Rousanne brings orange and lemon notes, honeysucke and acacia. They are together a lovely blend that fills the senses. H&B loves this wine as an aperitif with tapas, clams, oysters, and all manner of freshly grilled fish, perhaps drizzled with some olive oil, salt, and pepper.
50% Piquepoul Blanc, 25% Roussanne, 25% Grenache Blanc. The Languedoc Blanc is a blend of heritage varietals that complement each other. Hecht & Bannier select the wines for this blend from vineyards bordering the Etang de Thau which benefit from cool, maritime growing conditions allowing the grapes to ripen fully and still preserve fresh, healthy acidity.
