EnRoute Les Pommiers Pinot Noir 2016
Pinot Noir | California | United States
The 2013 EnRoute Pinot Noir, “Les Pommiers,” offers explosive aromatics of pomegranate and cherry with hints of perfume, tobacco leaf, mineral, baking spices and a lovely floral note. The entry is warm and coating, followed closely by rich, layered tannins.
The 2013 vintage marked the earliest harvest to date in the history of EnRoute. We began picking fruit in our northernmost vineyards on August 29. Harvest finished nearly five weeks later in our coolest vineyards in the southernmost reaches of Russian River Valley, the Sebastopol Hills. The weather was nearly perfect for the entirety of harvest. Cool morning temperatures and fog, followed by moderate afternoon temperatures, allowed the grapes to ripen in ideal conditions.
