Domaine L'Ostal Cazes – Estibals 2011
This balance of grape varieties provides a perfect expression of the Minervois appellation. The wine is aged in French oak barrels for 12 months. With its deep red hue and violet glints, L’Ostal Cazes Estibals offers notes of scrubland, morello cherries and red fruits. On the palate, the attack is full and smooth with well-marked tannins and a touch of oakiness.
Made with 60% Syrah, 20% Carignan, 20% Grenache. In the old Oc language, the word "ostal" refers to both the house and the family group living there as one idea. The vines of the Estibals plot, between wood and garrigue scrubland, are planted along the hillsides on argilo-calcareous soil. With spice notes and velvety tannins, Estibals expresses the full character of its Mediterranean terroir.
