Domaine de la Douaix Cote de Nuits-Villages Vieilles Vignes 2009
Bold and brooding aromas of black cherry and cassis. The palate is framed by thick tannins with very good length and depth all supported by beautifully integrated French oak. Food Pairing Smoked duck, grilled pork tenderloin, hanger steak, lamb shank, pork belly, roasted turkey breast.
100% Pinot noir. Domaine de la Douaix was established in 2006 by the Moustie family from Belgium, and is based in Arcenant, one of Burgundy's most beautiful villages just 6.2 miles from Nuits-Saint-Georges. In just a few years they have built a solid reputation for producing elegant and very balanced wines. The white wines have a distinct mineral touch that is so typical for some of Burgundy's most beautiful terroirs. The domain's red wines have layers of red and black-fruit aromas and display a remarkable intensity on the palate.
