Divum Pinot Noir 2014
Divum Pinot Noir displays lush aromas of strawberry, cherry and dark flowers, highlighted by toast and spice notes. Rich and supple on the palate with alluring cherry fruit and mouth-watering acidity. This is an elegant wine with a long, caressing finish.
Divum is a new wine produced by two brothers who are fourth generation grape growers. They own five estate vineyards in Monterey County and have supplied Pinot Noir grapes over the years to dozens of wineries including Kendall-Jackson, Hess, Talbott and Morgan. The decision to make their own wine seemed like a natural one and they brought an experience winemaker who’s worked with Pinot Noir for 30 years throughout the Central Coast and Sonoma, including a debut as winemaker at Calera. For this wine they sourced grapes from the two best blocks in their vineyards. The grapes were destemmed and put into the fermenters uncrushed. They extended the maceration for a full two weeks to extract more layers of flavor and velvety tannins.
