Croix de Chene Cabernet Sauvignon 2013
Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world.
Located in the heart of the Beaujolais, the Pardon family is the owner of their Domains. Winemaker Eric Pardon has studied in Bourgogne, Nantes, as well as Australia. The family’s winemaking history reaches from father to son since 1820, more than 6 generations now. The winery is now producing 5500 Hectoliters of wines. Half of their production is in Crus du Beaujolais as Beaujolais-Villages, Brouilly, Fleurie, Morgon, Moulin à Vent, Juliénas, Saint-Amour. The other half is divided among the north of Saint-Amour, where they have Macon Villages Blanc, Saint- Véran, Pouilly fuissé and in Côte Châlonnaise Bourgogne Blanc, Bourgogne Rouge Pinot noir. Also in the north of Vallée du Rhône there is some production of Côtes du Rhône and Vins de Pays.
