Varietal Carignan (Mazuelo)

Deep garnet with some hints of violet on the rim. Dark fruit and spice aromas. On the palate it is concentrated and fresh at the same time. Fine structure with great length, bright fruits, and silky tannins. Easy to appreciate from a young age, its length, minerality, and structure promise a very good aging potential. This is a great food-pairing wine, it will especially go well with roast rack of lamb, oxtail, or beaufort cheese.

Clos Mogador is a winery located in the village of Gratallops. It was founded in 1982, and is owned by Rene Barbier, one of the Priorat's Renaissance pioneers of the 70s who contributed to the region being put on the DOC map. Rene considers wine to be the same as poetry, his first passion at a young age, which is reflected on the caps on each of his wines—a seal of a paper, plume, and ink bottle. The Clos Mogador winery produces only 1,000 cases of Manyetes wine on 2,471 acres, since it is very difficult to produce more quantities due to the quality of their soil—one of the poorest schist soils of the Priorat DOC.
