Cline Pinot Noir Seven Ranchlands 2022
This Pinot Noir comes from the Petaluma Gap. The Gap is a smaller AVA within Sonoma County and is known for afternoon winds and cool temperatures through much of the growing season.
The vines are often shrouded in fog which makes for a long, cool growing season and maximum flavors. Grapes are hand harvested. Lots are 100% destemmed to lessen tannins, and whole berries are transferred to tank.
The wine naturally begins fermentation and temperatures are capped at 90ºF. Skin contact is 10-14 days, and then free-run is separated from the press fraction. The wine is inoculated with malolactic bacteria, and transferred to barrels for 10 months aging before blending and bottling. An amazing Pinot Noir offering an array of red fruit and wild savage characters with depth and richness on the palate making this a superb drinking experience.
