Cline Cellars Ancient Vines Mourvedre 2019
Offers a hint of eucalyptus on the nose, distinct chocolate characteristics, luscious deep plum, and concentrated cherry. This scrumptious and unusually delightful wine has a substantial mouthfeel followed by soft tannins.
A perfect complement to grilled lamb, wild mushroom, ragout, duck confit, peppercorn-crusted beef tenderloin, herb-roasted meats, grilled pork tenderloin, or the Truffled Mac & Goat Cheese recipe found inside the wine's back label.
In 1982, with an inheritance from his grandfather, Fred Cline founded Cline Cellars near Oakley, California. Here, he preserved and restored many ancient-vine sites. In 1991, Fred and his wife Nancy relocated the winery to the Carneros region of Sonoma County, onto a 350-acre estate with new vineyards and facilities. Originally the site of a Miwok Village and the first camp of the Sonoma Mission, it features lush green lawns and spring-fed ponds surrounded by rose bushes, willow trees, and gardens.
