Chivas Brothers is a producer of leading labels of blended Scotch whisky under the Chivas Regal brand, and a distillery owner and bottler of single malt whisky. It is the core Scotch whisky business of Pernod Ricard, which acquired it in 2001. As with many Scotch brands, the company traces its roots to the opening of a grocery store, this time in Aberdeen. The store gained fame through the 19th Century – from 1843 it had a royal warrant to supply goods to Queen Victoria and her household at Balmoral.
