Chateau Montfin Corbieres Pauline 2014
A pretty fresh garnet-colored dress, an expressive and rather complex nose with notes of black berries, morello cherries and eucalyptus. The mouth is round in attack with sweet tannins and vanilla flavors, the finish is quite long on chocolate notes.
When Jerome Esteve and his wife arrived at this domaine in 2002, they had been searching to find parcels of very old vines Carignan. Chateau Montfin is an entirely old vines estate with vines dating back to 1930! The total production is very small for the relatively tiny (by Corbières standards) estate of 20 hectares, with the average yields being just 25-35 Hl/Ha. Since 2009 the domaine has organically farmed all their parcels of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cinsault and now the entire domaine is certified organic.
