Cesca Vicent Priorat 2013
Deep ruby core with a violet toned rim. On the nose intense dark fruit and a pleasant perfumed backdrop of flowers, red fruits and spices: strawberries, plums, violets, clove, pepper and tobacco leaves. Full bodied on the palate with generous depth of fruit and a pleasantly fresh finish. Tannins are well integrated maintaining good balance to the ripe and fresh fruit.
Manual harvesting ensures varieties are treated individually, with selected bunches of grapes being harvested when determined to be at optimum ripeness. Temperature controlled tanks enable pre-fermentation maceration to maximize extraction as well as control fermentation temperatures and length. During the fermentation the grape must goes through 3 to 4 rack and returns. Once the malolactic fermentation is over, 2/3 of the wine ages in French and American oak barrels for 6 months.
