Lush, lively texture with lovely black cherry and pomegranate fruit, bright acidity to balance the sweet fruit flavors, black pep- per and clove spice, and a long, lively finish of black cherry, pomegranate, and hints of licorice and cocoa powder.
Oakley Road Zinfandel is planted on the same sandy slopes as the Oakley Road Mataro. These vines, planted around 1900, are on their own roots.

Uniquely aged in charred bourbon barrels, 1000 Stories Mendocino Country Zinfandel boasts a deep, rich purple color. Fragrant blackberry jam, plum, spice, and toasty oak aromas with sumptuous black fruit flavors accented by enticing clove and vanilla tones. The palate is full with ripe tannins, big black and red fruits, followed by an array of spices. The wine finishes with a touch of warmth that lingers on and on.

For over 35 years, the Herzog and Watts families have worked together to grow spectacular Zinfandel in the Mokelumne River region of Lodi. This Zinfandel is crafted from vines up to 80 years old, capturing intense flavors and rich texture. The wine is balanced and not overly sweet, a style modeled after some of the most historic Late Harvest wines of France.
