Original Village Series. Handcrafted in San Balthazar Chichicapa, Oaxaca, located in a broad valley with a semitropical microclimate. Agave: Espadin. Nose of sweet roasted agave & toasted corn, palate of dried fruit & sweet almond, finish of bitter chocolate & mint.
A premium mezcal created for high-end mixology. Handmade in small batches from carefully selected 10-12 year old agaves. Very soft in the mouth with sweet ripe fruits dominating the palate and a backbone of subtle and intermingled smoke and spice.
Banhez Mezcal is owned and operated by the families of the U.P.A.R.E.C Co-operative in Ejuita, Oaxaca. Our members, located throughout the hills and valleys of Ejuita, come together to grow, harvest, distill, and package every bottle.
The Tepeztate agave grows wild on high mountainsides and steep, rocky cliffs making it extremely difficult to harvest. Their twisted, large green leaves make the agaves look like massive spiders climbing up a mountain. This expression features notes of ripe citrus and tropical fruit due to the agaves long age of maturation before harvest.
Inspired by legendary tales from San Luis Potosí, the spirit and decanter of our newest icon capture the essence of this state’s desert slopes and valleys.
Its mezcal is made with green agave, a plant native to the deserts in the state of San Luis Potosí.
