Penfolds Quantum Bin 98 is the continuation of a twenty-year endeavor from when Australian vine cuttings were planted in Californian soil. The inaugural release of Ben Glaetzer’s Godolphin Shiraz Cabernet, the 2004 vintage, received rave reviews from the world’s wine press with US critic Robert Parker describing it as “the stuff of legends….. the apogee of Ben Glaetzer’s winemaking talents”, scoring it 96-98 points. UK wine writer Mathew Dukes was equally impressed writing “This is the earth shatteringly brilliant younger brother to Amon-Ra, and it's a hedonistic Shiraz/Cabernet blend. Where Amon-Ra is, admittedly, totally over the top, Godolphin is near perfection.”
This 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is dense, pliant and wonderfully expressive. Ric Forman's wines are always on the restrained side, but the 2015 packs a good bit of punch.
Colleoni Brunello di Montalcino Santa Maria 2015 is a prestigious Italian red wine from the renowned Brunello di Montalcino wine region in Tuscany. This wine is made entirely from Sangiovese grapes, also known locally as Brunello, which are carefully selected from the Santa Maria vineyard, one of the oldest and most distinguished vineyards in the region.
The 2015 is an intense and elegant expression, with a typical red fruit profile, together with complex layers of mushrooms, earth and spices. Precise and polished.
The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is very deep purple-black in color with a crushed plums, blackberries and black cherries nose with hints of dried herbs and smoked meats plus menthol and chocolate box notes. The full-bodied palate is rich, finely textured and fresh, with great purity and length.
Ripe black fruits and dark-chocolate flavors highlight this powerful wine. Fresh black-currant acidity backed by light notes of pepper. 83% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Franc.
The 2015 Alluvial Selection is powerful and voluptuous, with notes of cassis, blackberry, dark chocolate and tobacco. Full-bodied, the palate delivers fine-grained, silky tannins with a vibrant finish. This expressive wine will age beautifully for 20+ years.
This Riserva from Sesti is rich, dark and full-bodied. The wine is textured and velvety with fresh acidity and integrated tannins.
