The frozen Vidal grapes were harvested in late December 2019 when temperatures fell between -10ºC and -13ºC. After settling the juice in stainless steel tanks, cool fermentation was completed in late-February when the wine was placed outdoors to stop fermentation and to complete natural cold stabilization.
Beautiful clean garnet wrapped in a royal purple robe with violets, blueberries/raspberries with a gentle note of sweet vanilla. Medium-bodied with raspberries, blueberries, plums with bracing acidity, spicy-sweet vanilla/searing tannins on a moderately long finish.
Intense garnet with orange nuances. On the nose the wine is elegant with notes of violet, small red fruits and leather. On the palate it is structured and harmonious, with persistent and soft tannins. A wine that is suited for lengthy aging in the cellar.
This wine demonstrates intrigue from the very start, with dark red and blue fruits on the nose. A medley of mixed berry flavors are complemented by subtle mineral notes.
The 2012 is quite pale at the present time, with brilliant green highlights. The nose is well-defined and mineral. Still very young and quite elegant, this wine has yet to reveal its full complexity.
