Since the 1990’s, the Michter’s team has been doing pioneering work to re-establish the high-quality American Rye whiskey category. The May 2015 inaugural release of Michter’s US★1 Barrel Strength Rye marked yet another milestone in that quest.
The wine is coming from a plot called “La Navilla”, situated in the same estate where the winery is located, and facing a very optimum south west position. The harvest was done by hand, following a vinification process with knowledge to keep all the excepcional qualities of the grapes of this excellent vintage.
Rich, creamy, silky-smooth. Warm, rich oak and sherry sweetness, full mouth feel, raisins and soft fruits. Spicy with medium length and a dry finish. Deep amber-red gold. Sweet, creamy vanilla, with hints of ginger.
Glowing amber in color with heather-honey sweetness and peaty smokiness on the nose. The expression that started it all for Highland Park. First introduced in 1979, the 12 year old is at the very heart of our core range and demonstrates rich, well balanced malty tones, with the subtle floral smoke which makes Highland Park such a distinctive single malt whisky.
Golden amber in color with hints of ruby. Soft and rounded, with fruity notes of red apple aromas. The 12 year old expression is a fine example of how the distinctively crisp, citrus character of Aberlour's raw spirit is deftly softened by double cask maturation.
A heavily-peated 2011 Port Charlotte single malt from Bruichladdich, PAC:01 has been matured in ex-American whiskey casks for six years before being finished in ex-Pauillac red wine casks for a further two years before bottling.
