This 2023-release continues the collaboration between Bowmore’s master blender Ron Welsh and Aston Martin’s chief creative officer, Marek Reichman. William Cadenhead Ltd was founded in 1842 and is Scotland's oldest independent bottler. Cadenhead's Original Collection whiskies provide a showcase from a variety of distilleries from Scotland and beyond. Each distillery has its own distinct character and flavour: we select casks from our warehouses in Campbeltown to explore and present the best that each one has to offer. None of our products are chill-filtered and no artificial colouring is added.
Ardbeg's Wee Beastie is a youthful single malt drawn from a combination of ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, bottled up at five years of age. Peaty notes sit at the fore for this one, with oak somewhat taking a back seat, since...
Very sweet with a smooth, creamy texture, this is a Speyside whisky with chocolate and custard notes early on that indicate the dessert nature of this tipple, with slight zesty, tropical fruity notes showing that it also has a vibrant side. There are lemon notes throughout this dram, as well as vanilla sponge and marzipan that demonstrate the softer side of this whisky.
Tamnavulin, from Tomnavoulin, Ballindalloch, Banffshire, is one of the many distilleries built in the boom period of the 1960s to keep up with the public interest. Sweet and zesty with lots of fruity notes – such as pineapple, grapefruit and banana – through most of the dram but the finish is more mellow and provides a calming, smooth end to the experience.
The third annual-release in the Harmony Collection has been created in collaboration with Stella and Mary McCartney and celebrates the fertile lands of Scotland. The presentation box and bottle label are made with discarded meadow cuttings and the whisky was matured ex-sherry and ex-bourbon casks. This has imparted aromas of honeysuckle, coconut and citrus peel on the nose, leading to notes of almond, honeydew melon and green tea on the palate.
Amber with dark gold highlights, full ripe and sweet, with finely peated with aromas of orange marmalade, honey, coffee, sherry and nuttiness. The finish is fresh with a long lasting smoky maltiness.
Exhaling honey, citrus and spicy cloves. Sherried and full like fruitcake, then dabs of rich dark chocolate and a soothing, mouth-coating finish.
The fourth volume in Laphroaig's Ian Hunter Story series is a 1987-vintage single malt that was matured in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels and finished in first-fill European oak ex-oloroso sherry casks, before being bottled at 34-years-old. Aromas of dried fruit, soft smoke, tobacco leaves, eucalyptus, heather honey, black pepper and cinder toffee fill the nose, complemented by notes of barbecued pork, sweet honey, peach, orange blossom, iodine, earthy peat and ashy wood smoke throughout the palate and lingering in the finish.
