Heaven Hill Heritage Collection 17 Year Old Barrel Proof Bourbon Whiskey is a beautifully balanced combination of 17, 19, and 20-year-old bourbon. The traditional Bourbon mash bill of 78% corn, 12% malted barley, and 10% rye is used for this collection.

In 1997, when Jefferson’s was first starting out, we found a 15-year-old bourbon that we immediately knew was rich, complex and needed to be brought to market. It was in 2003 that we decided to bring in other bourbons to marry with the original Jefferson’s Reserve. Similar to Jefferson’s, we still use over 50% of that mash bill and add up to 3 more bourbons to create more flavor and complexities.

Kentucky- Aromas of caramel toffee, sweet char, creme brulee, cinnamon, vanilla, and apple. Bright first notes of rich caramel sweetness. Vanilla and toffee coat the front of the palate, linger, then blend with tingles of pepper, cinnamon, and a hint of ginger.
This bourbon is described as having an aroma explosion of sweet, rich fruit and toasted nuts, followed by figs, hints of spicy tobacco and subtle cedar. The palate is sweet with a soft, round initial impression followed by a myriad of aged fruits and nuts. the finish is balanced and sweet with notes of spicy oak. This whiskey was finished in Oloroso sherry casks for approximately one to four years.
Warming and deliciously rich nose, the palates foundation is centered on vanilla and oak, with light brown sugar, caramel, and a fruit salad-like pop of sweetness that balances the oak.
Tasting notes for this bourbon describe cherry cordial on the nose followed by caramel and slightly smoked-oak. Dark chocolate, tobacco leaves and dates are found on the palate, followed by a lingering finish of leather, black pepper and cinnamon.
For this 2023 release, Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall has drawn upon prior creative releases and continued product experimentation for inspiration. In 2014, the Master’s Collection released the first Pinot Noir finished Kentucky Bourbon in history, Sonoma-Cutrer Pinot Finish. This was followed in 2016 with the first-ever American Brandy Cask finished Bourbon.
